The Hunger Games: Review
When I first heard that Jennifer Lawrence was cast as Katniss Everdeen I didn’t see it. I had known that Lawrence was used to playing bad ass girl characters, with her role in The Poker House, and Winter’s Bone. She is tough and a damn good actress. I was excited to see how things turned out. After the movie I remember feeling giddy with excitement. I can’t wait for the next movie to come out. Not only was her part good, but the role of Peeta Malark was casted well with Josh Hutchinson. Over all I gave it a five out of five. Art of me wishes that there was more violence and gore, like the book, but I understand why the directors decided to go that route. It’s so they could get more viewers without having to have the added drag of R ratings.
That being said, I don’t feel that the story is appropriate for grade school children. I mean it’s just too much, they don’t need that. Let them read Charlotte’s Web or The Box car Children. No need to bring in blood and gore, they get that enough at home.
