A day late….X for the Men and Women Mutants of the world

No other franchise can compete with the world of the X men. I am suprised that there isn’t a world dedicated to them. Like you know at Universal Studios. I know they are lumped into the comic book world, but I want them to have a replica of Xavier’s house. How cool would that be?

Okay so lets just say I started watching the X men when they were a cartoon in the 80’sImage

And then in the 90’s

I was a senior when I heard they were going to create a movie based on one of my favorites Saturday morning cartoons, I was more than excited. Yes, I stood in line for the midnight showing of the movie. It was awesome. I think I still even have my ticket stuff somewhere.

And the franchise took off from there!!! Now there are at least four completed movies and two more in the works. There are even spin off based on the main characters, such as Wolverine, I think he has two or three of his own movies. You know like Iron Man, Hulk, and Captain America of the Avengers. I think I would watch a movie based on Scarlett Johansen’s character. That would be cool.

Before and After the Color Run!!

Catching Up!!!

Good Evening all!! This is a catch up post. Due to technological issues I wasn’t able to post anything on Friday or Saturday.

On Friday I was going to post a blog about Valentines Day the movie. It’s cute and full of super great actors and actresses that are somehow tied together. I love movies like this you get to see all sorts of things that happen. There’s a florist, a set grandparents, a super cute grandson, a mother, a best friend, and an awesome Teacher.

If you are looking for a cute chick out!

Next, i have letter W and the movie I am going to discuss is the classic Where the Heart is!! Its about a young woman whose boyfriend decides to move across the country while she’s nine months pregnant. She then is stranded by said boyfriend at a Walmart when she has to go pee.

So she has no other choice but to live at the Walmart and wait out her pregnancy. Well that’s what happens. When her baby is born in the Walmart her story becomes national news. She’s somewhat of a celebrity. I”m sure most of you have seen this film, it’s played every weekend either on USA Oxygen, Lifetime, ect. Like I said it’s a classic tale of love and the hardships of being a single mother.

So take a look, it’s a good film starring Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman.

In other news I participated in the Color Run this weekend. It’s said to be the happiest 5k ever and I would have to agree!!!

All about me!!

All about me!!

First and foremost let me begin by stating that I am grateful to have readers of my blog. I have been trying for several years to keep a blog up and running. I think I have it.

For my New Media class at Southern New Hampshire University requires that I post a blog about me as a writer. So here it goes.

I knew that i wanted to be writer since I was a child. I would spend hours reading and then trying to create my own world. it was my pastime for several years. I just recently decided to pick it up again seriously. I love writing and creating worlds and people. I also love the planning aspect as well.

I plan on self publishing in the Fall and currently have a Facebook page it’s under M.V. Miles. So stop by and see what i”m writing about. It might surprise or enlighten you.

Throwback Thursday with a Movie Twist!!!

So with the end of the A to Z challenge ending soon, I must say that this year was far more productive than last year. I really enjoyed this challenge. I wonder what will be next.

So my letter is U and lets just say there are only a few films that fit into this category: Ultraviolet and Under the Tuscan Sun are a few example. But today I am going to talk to you about Uptown Girls.

It’s cute, witty, and family film. It stars the late Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning when she was a child.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch it you should. it’s hilarious and plus there is good morals to be learned at well. I’m really upset by the passing of Brittany, i thought she was one of the best actresses at that time. She will be missed by me. Image

Transform your Wednesday

Good Morning!

Today I am going to tell you about a series of films I love. Most in pat because I grew up with them, bu secondly they are just so cool!! I’m sure you’ve guess it. TRANSFORMERS!!

If you grew up in the eighties then this cartoon was part of your daily regimen. I watched it before i went to school. Then mcdonalds sold those cool Transformers fries, burgers, and drinks. You remember those?Image

I loved them and had them all. I”m sure they are somewhere at my mothers house.

So when I heard that they were going to make them into a film I was SUPER PSYCHED!!!!! My favorite character has always been Optimus Prime with Bumble following close behind. Before you ask, yes I was one of the people who stood in line opening night, back when they did midnight showings. Do they still do that anymore?

I walked away from the theater in love! The show was amazing and there was so much to see, if you blinked you missed something. It’s action, action, comedy, and more action. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Well in the first one you meet Sam whose a typical kid, trying NOT to be too dorky in front of the hottest girl in school, but failing miserably. He is allowed to pick out his own car and Bumble bee happens to be there. The banter between this kid and his parents are HILARIOUS!! Oh and it’s PG for kids too. How awesome is that.

So needless to say the Transformers kick some butt and save the day. Talk about an adrenaline rush.

Round 2: This is the search for the All Spark. They bring back an old timer who has been asleep for several hundred years to find them. Now this Transformers wasn’t well thought out. There were too many gaps in the film and questions that weren’t answered. Yes, there was great action and even more comedy. But there were flaws.

Rounds 3. I’m sad to say that I didn’t like this one. I guess it was because they traded out Megan Fox with a Victoria Secret Model. it just made it that more unbelievable that a she could have a thing for Sam. A huge dork with a sense of humor. The action was packed in this film, but it wasn’t the best.

Round 4: Okay so I am not looking forward to this film. Nothing against Mark Walhberg, he’s a good actor. But why not Shia? He’s been with the Transformers since day 1, he knows them best. Right? I may not even go see this one.

However I am excited to go back to Universal Studios and hop on the Transformer’s ride, but I am patiently waiting for them to redo the Harry Potter Ride. Has anyone been? Is it cool? Let me know.

Okay that’s all for now.

Tuesday Spanglish

As far as I’m concerned, Adam Sandler’s best movie is Spanglish. He plays the laid back husband of high strung Tea Leoni’  and falls for his maid, which is played by the talented Penelope Cruz.

It’s a great film about the intersecting relationships between “the help” and their employees. It’s funny, witty, and even though provoking. In a blink of an eye a person’s life can be changed.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you should!
