A to Z Challenge

Accepted!

This year however, I am going to try do something different. I am a sucker for a good movie and lord knows there are some good ones out there.

Any ideas of what I should blog a to z about? Animals, books, cars? Or better yet, flower, countries or authors?

Catching Fire…review

So when Catching Fire came out, I was mad at Katniss for the way she was treating Peeta, just as I was in the book. Here was a guy who put everything on the line, including his heart to fight for this chick. A chick who makes it clear that she can take care of herself.

I was pissed that the game maker had decided to do another hunger games with the victors. Talk about a slap in the face. It was brutal and mean. I understand the logic behind President Snow, he wanted to get rid of her, but had to be tactful about it. Killing her would just piss off a bunch of people. So why not make a game of it.

That’s what he did. But again there were plans at play that he didn’t know about. He was outsmarted again and Katniss was freed and Peeta sacrificed to the Capital. Anyone knows that in any great love story there will be a plot twists that keep us on our toes.

What I would like to point out is that even thought I had read the book and knew what was going to happen, I was still shocked to see it played out. It hit another part of my psyche. If a book made movie is done right it will illicit this kind of response.

So when the ending credits ran, I was again anxious to see the next installments.

So what happened in 2015?

Hmmmm….good question.

I finished my Masters of Arts in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing (Fiction).

I lost my dog of ten years….(she was a rescue dog when I got her and they assume she was at least two or three).

No promotions.

I lost my cat Sebastian….he was a hand me down cat…good times, minus him peeing on the floor…

I self-published my first novel, Twisted Proposal in August….how cool is that!!!

No Vacations

I lost some weight….not as much as I want….it goes back to that motivation thing.

The Hunger Games ended…booo…but I heard they are going to be doing some prequel stuff. Please don’t….that’s all I have to say about that.

Oh and currently I know ten women that are preggo…its crazy!

So….that’s a wrap for now. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has to bring….

Today was a Good Day

Today progress was made on the writing front. I wrote over 5,000 words on the novella that follows up Twisted Proposal. I am going to step away from it for a week to allow my brain time to think. This is also allow me to think of different ways to develop a story. In order to be considered a novella, it has to at least be 15,000 words. I have 1/3 written.

Zumba was a go tonight. Surprise I took a week off. I would check out clubfitzfitness, if you haven’t already done so. Especially if you like to dance. Today I did 22 videos woot woot!! I am planning on going to the gym tomorrow, but we will see what happens!!  Wish me luck.

In other news, my father is coming down tomorrow and is going to stay for the remainder of the wee. It should be fun!! I hope he doesn’t get bored. I won’t be home much. I work 12 hour shifts everyday :(. I might even work on Saturday. Gotta make sure my check is big!! 🙂

I hope everyone has a good week!

Tick…Tock…Tick…Tock

Oh boy!

Time is running out! I need to sit down and read, read, read, and read. I need to call and make arrangements as well for cake and food. I need to do a final check list of whose coming 🙂

So much to do….and I’m still writing novella one that goes with the story. I don’t know if this is a good idea so late in the game….but we will see.

Let’s face it i am one of the biggest procrastinators that I know. I need to stop.

final cover

Jail is the last place fifteen-year-old Addison Solomon expected to wind up when she ran away. Not that this is a big surprise; her life has been on a downward slide since her drug-addicted aunt died, leaving her alone and penniless.

When her long-lost father appears, whisking her away with him to his mansion and second family in sunny California, Addison soon discovers that her new wealthy relatives are not exactly people she should trust.

In other news I have a ton of writing and work to catch up on.

This Week

This week plan on creating blogs on both blogs, marketing my upcoming e-book (any advice would be greatly appreciated it), and wrapping projects up.

On the Writing Block:

Finish Twisted Desire, book 2 of my Twisted Series. This is merely a revision. Once it’s finished I can start the beta reading process and editing as well.

Finish writing book 2 of my Catalyst series. I am about one third done.

Read through TGB book project. Once this is done I can send it to the editor.

Put together a list of projects I need to put together. I am hoping to publish a collection of short stories sometime this year, I am still writing them. The collection is entitled The Reaper.

In other news I plan on going to the gym four times and adding zumba back into my life at least 3 times. Oh and yoga, I need to do yoga.

What’s in plan for this week?

What to do with bad days!!!!

Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go as planned. This is my life everyday. I can wake up in the morning and plan to sit down and write all day and BAM life decides it’s not going to happen.

So instead of being bitter (most days) I use the restructed day to my advantage and day dream. Well not really day dream, more like imagine all the ways my day could have been worse. This reminds me to be thankful.

This post is to remind everyone that it may look grim out the window of your eye, but don’t give up.
Thoughts and feelings!!!

A to Z final thoughts

This year I focused on actors and actresses that I find entertaining. It was fun. I would like to participate in another blog challenge. Anyone know of any?

Honorable Mention:

Ellen Page, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Amy Poehler, Dakota Fanning, Julia Roberts, and the list can go on and on.

I love movies, some are good and others are bad.

Thanks for stopping by. I will resume normal blogging next week.

S is for Saoirse and Scarlett

Both of these actresses are acting chameleons! They can be comedic, serious, depressing, and even mysterious. They have even taken risks which in most cases wound up in their favor in the end.

I first saw Saoirse Ronan within the hit film, The Lovely Bones. Have you seen it? It’s an equally if not more powerful book. It’s about a young girl who goes missing and it’s later discovered that she was killed by a neighbor. It brings to question the idea of life and death and the bridge that connects the two. Not to mention the cinematography skills are amazing in this film.

Then she busted outs onto the scene with the movie Hanna, which if you haven’t seen it, you should. It’s awesome, I hope they make a sequel. Also another fun fact is that the Chemical Brothers did the music for the entire film. It’s filled with action and twists and turns in the plot that leave the viewer guessing what is going to happen next.

Then she was in the movie The Host, which based off of the book written by Stephanie Meyer, you know that chick who wrote Twilight. It was a decent film, but I felt it was lacking something.

Moving on to great and talented Scarlett Johansen, seems to have been acting forever. Did you know she has a music album out?

The first movie I remember seeing her in was Lost in Translation with Bill Murray. Great movie, very interesting concept too. This was followed by The Girl with the Pearl Earring, which I do believe I saw first now that I think about it…Anywho she can play anything you throw as her.

Then she stared in a great family film entitles, We Bought a Zoo!! Amazing movie, I mean I think almost every movie Matt Damon is in is an instant his.

Then she became an instant hit with The Avengers movies, making appearances in Captain America’s films as well.

She played a controlling woman in the comedy Don Juan.

Most recently she played in this sci fi film about being able to access 100% of her brain. Lucy? It was alright…

What is your favorite film by these ladies?
