Mockingjay Part 1

The Mockingjay part one was quite shocking for me because I guess I had forgotten that Peeta was still captured. I guess part of me thought he was rescued at the end of movie 2. Oppsseee. He was captured and being tortured by the Capital. He would appear nightly in talks with Caesar about how Katniss needs to cease working with the rebellion.

The untimely death Phillip Seymour Hoffman put a wrench in things. They digitally integrated him in the movie. It was quite believable and made me sad, in that he was an amazing actor. I mean his movies hit home!

And Julianne Moore, I hope she never decides to dye her hair gray, she wears it well, but red is her color. As President Alma Coin, she’s vicious and conniving…I hate to say this, but she reminded me of Hilary Clinton…..think about it….

The fighting was good and I have to say that at first I didn’t like song that Lawrence sang, but then it grew on me. It was quite intriguing and proves that good actresses are artists in more than just acting. It’s a good thing she wasn’t tone deaf.

In the end Peeta was freed, but had transformed into a monster… or at least when it comes to Katniss.

J is for…..AWESOMENESS!!!!

Can this letter get any better? I would have to say no. There are so many talented actors and actresses whose name begin with the letter J. Here is a list of my favorite!

Judy Garland was an amazing lady in her time and still today. She lives through her very talented daughter. She paved the way for great acting and singing with movies such as Meet Me in St. Louis, and most notably, The Wizard of Oz.

Then we have the wonderful Julie Andrews whose voice and acting captivated the world when she took on the job of keeping the Von Trapp family in line. Love this movie and watch it every year.

Jessica Lange gives me the chills when I see her creeptastic acting on American Horror Story. There is just something about this woman that screams frightening. She’s bulldozed her way through four seasons of the show and recently announced she was done. All her parts were amazing, but my favorite is still the first season.

Whoop Whoop, let’s give it up for Jada Pinkett Smith. I really enjoyed her on Gotham and just like Lange she announced she was going to step away from Gotham. This makes me sad, I really enjoyed her acting.

The Jennifer’s

One of my all-time favorites is the lady next, Jennifer Garner, who is so versatile in her acting. She can be anyone that’s what makes her so amazing. For instance, in Juno she was the woman desperate to have a child:

hen a crazy, determined lady in “butter”. This movie was highly underrated, it was an amazing film.

But my all-time favorite movie of her is:

If you’re a new to my blog, then I have to let you know I love love love Jennifer Lawrence. She’s an amazing talented woman. When I watched “The Poker House”, based on fellow actress Lori Petty’s life, I knew then she was going to be a star. She nailed the gritty reality of the situation.

Then we have Mr. Jeremy Renner, one of my favorite male actors, because he threw me for a look in the movie, The Hurt Locker. This movie was a cinematic masterpiece. His acting was on point and he delivered an award-winning performance.  He like came out of nowhere.

And I’m ending with a great actory from my teenage years and help me get through high school/ college, the lovely Julie Stiles

Ginger and Goldie

This blog focuses on two amazing actresses whose name begin with G, yes I am talking about the infamous Ginger Rogers and Goldie Hawn. Both of the women have paved the way by doing things their own way. For Ginger, working opposite Fred Astaire and mastering, if not topping, his tapping skills and Goldie becoming one of the funniest women on screen.

Here are few of my favorite Goldie movies!!!

Stay tuned for tomorrows pick!

E is for Emma and Emmy

This is going to be one of my favorite post because I get to talk about actresses whose name begins with the letter E.  My all-time favorites are Emma Watson, Emma Stone, and Emmy Rossum. Together all of these women have some serious star power on and off the screen. I apologize in advance for this post being longer than most.

Emma Watson grew up on camera, when she was casted as Hermione Granger, the frizzy haired muggle who befriends Harry till the end.

Then she moved onto other great films, such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower and My Week with Marilyn. But she’s more than just an actress, she’s an activist with her huge part in creating the organization, HeforShe. I mean check out this speech!

And then we have the great Emma Stone! Wow! She’s a great comedian, being in films like Easy A, Superbad, and The Help. She;s very talented as well, I mean her lip syncing skills a fricken SWEET!!!

Plus did I mention she’s Mary Jane in the new adaptation of Spider man?

Now for the last actress, several people may not know who she is, but her name is Emmy Rossum and let’s just say she’s got it all. She’s super smart, wealthy, and get this has an amazing voice. Yes, she’s an opera singer. One of her first films was the play adapted movie, Phantom of the Opera!

Now most of us know her as the smart mouth eldest daughter of Frank in the Showtime hit show Shameless. If you haven’t seen it, you should. Great acting, great script, great everything.

Well that concludes my blog for today. All three women are very talented and great to watch on and off camera. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

A is for Anna/Anne

Actresses with names that start with A.

Anna Kendrick is one of those actresses, who I knew at a young age was going to be ultra famous. When I first watched her performance in the movie CAMP, I never forgot her. I was surprised to see her case as Bella’s friend in Twilight, but lets be honest, we all questioned that movies casting. All in all she is one of Hollywood’s leading ladies who seems to have it all. She can act (she’s gotten a lot better since her Twilight Days), she’s funny, she can be serious, oh yah and she can sing. Check it out.

Anne Hathaway is another great actress with lots of talent. Who remembers when she was Mia, the girl with the huge hair and awesome house. If you don’t know she lived in a remodeled fire house. How cool is that? Plus Julie Andrews was in the movie.

Like Anna Kendrick, unbeknownst to most of the world, she could also sing. She was cast as Fatime, in the critically acclaimed film, Les Miserables. This happens to be one of my favorite plays, so I was skeptical at how they were going to pull it off, but they did and I liked it.

What are your favorite actresses, whose name starts with an A?

As always thanks for stopping by!
