Mockingjay Part 2

I remember walking into the theater with bittersweet feelings, in that it was the last installment of The Hunger Games, or should have been…I have recently heard a discussion about them making another Hunger Games as sort of a prequel. I wish they wouldn’t, but know they will. I don’t want to see a prequel. That is like Twilight having a Prequel LAME!!

I say this but I will probably flock to the theater with the thousands of others to watch it under protest.

So the movie was everything I wanted and more. I loved the scenes in the capital and the realization by Katniss that Gale is a weapons mastermind. I won’t say more than that, just in case someone hasn’t seen it yet or read the book.

It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster! Get ready. I was satisfied with the final installment of The Hunger Games and I am looking forward to more young adult books being changed into movies.

Movie Review: American Sniper

So I recently watched American Sniper.

First let me say that Bradley Cooper can play anyone. He’s such a versatile actor, but I have to say this was his best role yet.

I can only imagine the pain and suffering this man’s family had to have endured. This man, sniper, battled demons most of us only have nightmares about.

I have always been advocate for Veterans and it sickens me the way our government treats the men and women who sacrifice their time, bodies, and most importantly minds to protect us. Us being Americans who can’t even get along most day. Who are upset because someone cuts them off, steals their lunch, or even things as minor as a facebook post.

Wake up people! We aren’t living in a war zone. You don’t have to sacrifice your children to warlords or watch your family members dismembered or killed. Last time I checked bombs or bullets weren’t whizzing by your head.

What these men and women see overseas changes a person. And when they get home they need exit counseling.

Now back to the movie. It’s amazing!

Cooper portrayed Chris Kyle who is deemed America’s Most Lethal Sniper. First think I must note Kyle is a hero. He sacrificed his sanity to protect our freedom. He did what he had to do and wasn’t happy about it. There were times when Cooper seemed confused about being praised for killing men, women, and children. It bothered him and in the end I think he thought he had become a monster.

I wish I could shake his hand and thank him for his service. Amazing movie. I’m not going to give away the ending. I’ll leave you with this, just when things are getting back to normal tragedy strikes and lives are changed forever.

I had the same reaction after watching The Hurt Locker. I balled. You really get a firsthand view of the mental trauma that these prestigious men/women have gone through. You also get to see them battle with being called a hero for ending other’s lives.

I rate it a 5 out of 5! A definite must see!

False Reviews

I found both of these stories very interesting. What do you think?

Second try

I posted earlier today but for some reason it wouldn’t let me post. So lets try this again.

This is the first time in four years that I haven’t finished the NANO. November was filled to the brim with life happenings. What about you? I do have lots if things to discuss like two new movie reviews, book reviews and even advice,

But that will be in the weeks to come, I recently had to get a tooth pulled and a root canal on the same day. My jaws are are sore and I miss my tooth 😕. Is that weird? Its been there for several years and we had a great relationship with my bite… Oh well I guess its time for change. Bring in the costly bridge!!

So on that note I am going to wind up my rambling. I hope all is well where you are and I pray for peace for all!

Marley and Me are chillin this Tuesady Morning

If you are looking for a feel good movie that will make you laugh out loud, then you need to pick up Marley and Me!

It’s a great story about newlyweds that decide to bring a dog into their family. Little did they know that he would change their life forever.

This dog, Marley, is full of life, fun, and ideas that tend to get his owners into trouble.

It stars Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson and I feel it’s their best movie.

What did you think of it?

I’m a dog lover, so I am partial!.

Lord of the Rings: A review

Today’s blog is about the Lord of the Rings Franchise. If you haven’t seen any of these EPIC films then now is the time!

You have great actors/actress that bring to life JRR Tolkien’s classic books. I had the pleasure of reading The Hobbit in high school and it’s one of my favorites. It’s filled with action, mystery, suspense, and yes I even jumped a few times. At first when I learned they were making The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, I was upset that the Hobbit wasn’t first, but they have redeemed themselves.

So the movies start about a hundred or more years after the Hobbit (sorry if my years are off).

So here we have Frodo, whose uncle Bilbo Baggins leaves him the last golden ring that has the ability to drain the life out of the person who has it.

When the movie starts out we are introduced to a fun variety of characters that live in the Shire. A place where the Hobbits live, it’s kind of like above ground rabbit holes. Hobbits are solitary creatures and enjoy good food and wine. They like to have tea as well. That’s why I am certain that my girlfriend is a hobbit, she’s just lacking the hairy feet.

So here it is in a nutshell:

Fellowship of the Ring: Band together with a crew to head to the mountain to destroy the ring. Walk, walk, walk, fight and get separated.

Two Towers: Walk some more, fight, someone gets stabs, run/Walk, eat, pick up Smeegle, walk and get reunited and separated again. Oh and they have an awesome fighting scene at Helm’s Dee.

Return of the King: This is the conclusion of Lord of the Rings, Smeegle triesto kill Frodo and Sam saves him, The rest of the world fights, I’m talking swards and fist here. Oh and Legalos awesome arrows. But in the end the evil monster guy says, No man can ever kill me, so a woman does. How awesome is that!

Okay so then they started to make The Hobbit and I thought it was going to be horrible, but it’s quite tolerable.

The Hobbit 1: a band of dirty dwarves show up at Bilbo’s doorstep and eat him out of house and home, then invite him to go on a journey. He accepts. They walk, run, battle, run, walk, and get separated. Bilbo finds Smeegles precious ring and hides it. Reunited, fights, and the movie ends.

The Hobbit 2: Desolation of Smog. Okay so here we are rejoined with the dwarves and Bilbo who are making their way to the mountain to reclaim it. They need Bilbo to steal the previous jewel that holds a secret power. In the process he wakes the dragon Smog. This catapults everyone into action galore. It’s great and even cool how they managed everything.

I am anxiously awaiting The Hobbit 3.

So what was your favorite??
