Just letting you know….

Last night was the people choice awards and it’s apparent that America loves Sandra Bullock. I would be a member of that group as well. She seems like a down to earth woman who knows what she wants and plays some amazing characters. My all-time favorite is still The Blind Side, she really showed her acting in that. Heck I didn’t even know it was her. She can transform into anyone. It’s great. Transformation is what is going to drive this blog entry.

My all-time favorite actress is Jennifer Lawrence.

Why you ask? And no it’s not because of her portraying Katniss Everdeen either. Let me explain. Heck a few years ago I didn’t even know she existed; it was merely by mistake that I stumbled across her on Netflix. I think I was searching for Jennifer Garner movies and she popped up. The movie I watched was called, The Poker House.  I watched it and LOVED it! It was amazing acting by Selma Blair as well. Essentially it’s based on the life story of Lori Petty and Jennifer Lawrence plays her throughout the movie. It should have won some kind of awards, it was an awesome movie, but I think fell in the shadows. If you get a chance check it out. Here’s a synopsis courtesy of IMBD, “A dramatization of Lori Petty’s teenage years spent in small town Iowa. “

It doesn’t tell you much about it. But check it. This is one of her first movies. After I watched this I had to see her acting again, it was that good. That let me to Winter’s Bone. “An unflinching Ozark Mountain girl hacks through dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact.” –per IMBD. Talk about gritty

It was then she went on to do Like Crazy another indie film where she plays more of a supporting role, but still a great movie. It’s actually a great movie, quite ironic. Then she’s finally given a chance at the mega big screen when she was casted as Mystique in Xmen – First Class. From here it’s history, literally. She’s made hit after hit. She’s a part of one of the largest franchises, The Hunger Games, and she’s still got another 2 movies in that. Currently according to IMBD she’s working on 7 films. Talk about busy. I’m sure she isn’t going to stop anytime soon. She reminds me of a younger version of Sandra Bullock.

Either of these two actresses have paved their way to the big screen with good and bad movies along the way. But either way they always seem to wind up on top.

That’s all for today. Join me next week I’ll be talking about Mr. Bradley Cooper!
